www.wwtonline.co.uk | JANUARY 2019 | 27 ITM Monitoring updates Calyx OMS ITM Monitoring, a SOCOTEC Company, has released a new version of its data visualisa- tion platform, Calyx Online Monitoring So ware (OMS). The platform, used in both construction and asset management, provides a user- friendly interface to view site conditions via desktop, smart- phone or tablet. The updated version provides additional functionality and fl exibility, im- proving user experience within the feature-rich platform. Designed in close cooperation with experienced engineers and ITM's clients, Calyx off ers a user-friendly graphical interface for quick and easy in- terpretation of large amounts of instrumentation data from multiple sources, regardless of project scale. OTHER TOP PICKS FOR WATER NETWORKS Next month: Pumps and pumping systems THE DETAILS GPS Excel White White PE pipe for overground applications ● made from co-extruding white and black PE100● available in sizes from 180mm to 630mm ● supplied in lengths of 6m or 12m, or 50m and 100m coils for 180mm● additional sizes available What is it? GPS PE Pipe Systems has launched Excel White, a purpose- designed pipe system for transporting water in above ground applications. While most PE pipes for water applications are buried underground, there are certain applications, such as hydro projects or when pipe needs to cross rivers, that require pipe to be installed above ground. What's so good about it? Excel White sees the co-extrusion of white and black PE100 to provide a white outer skin on the pipe, which refl ects sunlight and provides signifi cantly lower solar radiation absorption levels. The lower surface temperature that is maintained reduces thermal stress and expansion and allows a thinner pipe wall to be used, offering considerable cost savings. What they say: GPS product manager Sophia Zhang: "Continually looking to enhance and improve our off ering for customers, we have launched Excel White as an improved solution for above-ground applications, providing customers with not only an improved product performance but also reduced costs." The Knowledge Water Networks Rotork CMA range Rotork has extended its CMA range of compact modulat- ing actuators with new sizes specifi cally designed for reliable automation of larger linear control valves. The new actuator is capable of a maximum 4,500 lbf (20 kN) seating thrust. The new sizes increase the CMA range modulating thrust performance to 3,000 lbf (13 kN) with a 114.3 mm (4.5") stroke length for the automation of larger valves with higher pressure ratings. The combined performance of the CMA and the larger CVA ranges enables Rotork's innovative electrical control valve actuation technologies to be applied to process control applica- tions of virtually any size and description. FloSTEM meter shield Developed in association with SES Water, the FloSTEM meter shield is designed to allow water companies to provide full fl ow water on a temporary basis to newly built or existing 'empty' properties. The equipment is installed in place of a water meter when the mains water supply for the property is connected. Any new oc- cupier will have 'temporary' access to full fl ow volumes of 250 litres of water with unrestricted fl ow rates. When this amount is exceeded, the shield trips and triggers a trickle valve. The shield is intended to limit the unau- thorised use of water while providing speedy supply for new commercial and domes- tic customers. PRODUCT OF THE MONTH
