Cables are continuing to be pulled
through an 8km tunnel located almost
30m under south London as part of
the Nine Elms regeneration project.
The Ed1son alliance, a partner-
ship of contractors and consultants
launched by UK Power Networks in
2015, is working to deliver the core
elements of the project.
In April, the first cables began to
be pulled through the cable tunnel in
order to support a new purpose-built
substation in the area.
A substation at Wandsworth will be
connected to Wimbledon, which will
in turn facilitate the connection from
Wandsworth to the Nine Elms primary
substation.
