Product Showcase WWT PUMP AND VALVE SUPPLEMENT 2018 17 What's new in the world of pumps? WWT takes a look at a selection of products that are generating a buzz in the market KSB Group B Pumps In mid-2018, the KSB Group extended its portfolio offered worldwide by adding a comprehensive programme of vertical turbine pumps. The so-called B Pumps are multistage vertical turbine pumps with a sub- merged hydraulic system. The pump sets comprise a discharge casing assembly, a column pipe and a pump bowl assembly. In total, customers can choose from 17 sizes with three different impeller types. The pump sets cover heads of up to 200 metres and flow rates of up to 720 litres per second. They are available with one to 25 stages, with stage casing diameters ranging from six to 24 inches. Various designs are on offer, enabling an above-floor or underfloor discharge. B Pumps can be driven by vertically mounted electric motors or via a right-angle gear with a horizontal diesel engine or electric motor. The maximum permissible speed equals 3,500 rotations per minute. As standard the pumps are made of grey cast iron and steel. Special material variants can be completely made of stainless steel, duplex and super duplex stainless steel or customised materials. The intermediate bearings of the pump sha‰s are lubricated by the fluid handled. Grundfos CR pumps Grundfos Pumps has launched a new range of high-flow CR multistage centrifugal pumps, with the new CR 95, CR 125 and CR 155 replacing the existing CR/N 90, 120 and 150. The Grundfos CR vertical, multistage, centrifugal in-line pump family works for water supply, water treatment and almost any industrial solution – in- cluding those for high-pressure, hot, dangerous, flammable and aggressive liquids. The new pumps feature a new hydraulic design that improves everything from impeller and guide vanes to inlet, discharge port, sleeve and diffuser. Designed to offer reliability, efficiency and a pump solution that is capable of operating as a standalone or in an integrated system, Grundfos suggests the new range is "moving the boundaries for multistage pump performance and durability". The company says every aspect of the new CR pump has been tested to the limits – above and beyond what the pump will ever need to do in the field. Virtual simulation models have been validated by calculations and by physical prototype testing of components and complete pumps in Grundfos' test facilities. The new CRs are also available as combined systems with dedicated CUE frequency converter and as booster systems.
