ALLIANCES 2019 3 Alliances set to be front and centre for AMP7 Welcome to Alliances 2019 – our guide to the latest collaborations formed in the water industry by the leading civil and process engineering contractors and consultants, as well as some of the water compa- nies themselves. Alliances and joint ventures have delivered some of the biggest and most signi• cant projects so far in the 2015-20 AMP6 period, and they haven't • nished yet. Yet with the • rst dra‚ of water company business plans now published as part of the PR19 process, at- tention is inevitably turning to AMP7 and what future arrangements will be in place for 2020-25. While some water companies have already commit- ted themselves to long-term collaborations, others have yet to announce their intentions and are under- standably keeping their cards close to their chest as they consider their options. However, there is little doubt that collaboration, alliancing and partnership has proved its worth in recent years, as the promise of • nancial stability, shared expertise and greater dynamism in innova- tion has to a large extent been realised by those water companies who have opted for alliance part- nerships. We hope you • nd our run-down of water industry collaborations both informative and useful. Since we can only o‰ er a snapshot of current partnerships here, don't forget to watch out for newly-announced developments on wwtonline.co.uk.
