TOP UTILITY JOBS
ELEXON
NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS
Job Reference: QXOC
Closing Date: 15 November 2018
Two days per month
£28,800
ELEXON is a non-profit organisation vital to the smooth operation of the wholesale electricity
market. It affects all companies that generate and supply electricity (currently around 300
and growing), as well as 28 million customers. Although ELEXON is relatively small in size, its
operations are highly complex, taking 1.25 million meter readings every day and handing £1.5
billion of customer funds every year, through its role to manage the electricity balancing and
settlement arrangements for Great Britain.
ELEXON now seeks two new industry members to join its Board in providing strategic leadership
to the organisation. This is an interesting and challenging time both for the sector and the
organisation, with high levels of change on the horizon. Electric vehicles, digitalisation, and peer to
peer trading will alter the current sector landscape, whilst major investment in IT infrastructure
within ELEXON will ensure it is fit for the future. ELEXON is able to respond to these challenges
from a position of strength, being highly regarded by Ofgem, as well as customers and staff.
Candidates for these two roles will bring current experience of the UK electricity industry as
well as prior board experience, with expertise preferred in at least two of the following areas:
transformation through technology, culture change, stakeholder engagement, remuneration
committee or audit committee experience or some other relevant financial experience. In
addition, candidates will be politically astute, with an aptitude for building respected and trusted
relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including Government, regulator and Code panel
and parties.
Saxton Bampfylde Ltd is acting as an employment agency advisor to ELEXON on these
appointments. For further information about the roles, including details about how to apply, please
visit www.saxbam.com/appointments using reference QXOC. Alternatively telephone +44 (0)20
7227 0880 (during office hours). Applications should be received by noon on 15 November 2018.
