16 | 19TH - 25TH OCTOBER 2018 | UTILITY WEEK High viz Work is progressing on schedule on Severn Trent Water's flagship project, the Birmingham Resilience Project to reinforce the Elan Valley Aqueduct, which has been the single source of water for Birmingham and surround- ing areas for more than 100 years. The £300 million project is the larg- est undertaken by the water company and is due to be commissioned in 2019. Pictured is the 15m-deep sha that will bring the water from the River Severn into the new pipeline and on to the treatment works 25km away. Once completed, the new pipe will run from Lickhill, near Stourport- on-Severn, 25km into the company's existing treatment works in Birming- ham. Once in place, it will allow Severn Trent to turn off the Elan Valley Flagship project going the distance Operations & Assets High viz
