WET NEWS WATER AND EFFLUENT TREATMENT NEWS Following months of development, it is with great excitement that Sykes Pumps introduce a new concept in emergency pumping via their Rapid Response unit. Its lightweight frame enables legal towing by vans and other medium sized vehicles, facilitating quicker reaction times when immediate action is required. Specifically designed for contractors, local authorities and utility companies, the pump can be housed in customer depots or yards and be on the road within seconds. Although small and compact, the Rapid Response model offers huge performance that can facilitate the pumping of up to 130,000 litres for every hour of operation. Sykes' most recent innovation complies with all industry legislation whilst negating the need for designated delivery drivers, tahcographs and additional manpower. The unit can be attached, delivered and commissioned by a single operative, simplifying the process between transportation and installation. Sykes Pumps announce record investment in 2016 Cover wrap 2017 Introducing the Silt Away Sykes Pumps are delighted to unveil a new environmentally friendly silt separation system designed to reduce water pollution. This latest innovation, known as the Silt Away, has been introduced to the market following growing pressure on companies to ensure site water has been sufficiently filtered before being discharged into natural sources. By deploying the product on site, users can be confident of reducing the risk of substantial fines and avoiding adverse publicity that tends to follow perceived ecological negligence. There have been a number of recent examples of organisations being hit with hefty financial penalties for failing to take the necessary precautions - something that can be easily avoided. The Silt Away has been manufactured for use in conjunction with Sykes' 6" pumps and retains sediment and other contaminants within the unit itself. Dedicated flushing points facilitate easy cleaning and emptying. This significant outlay will enable the company to continue to offer customers the industry's best-in-class innovations featuring the most up-to-date technologies and components. A large proportion of recent capital expenditure has been allocated to introducing new products, but this has also been supported by funds specifically designated to expand an already substantial hire fleet. Developing additional pumps to support existing equipment means Sykes are now in an even stronger position to accommodate increasing demand due to greater stock availability. The Rapid Response pump will change the way contractors react to emergency callouts forever, as its towable frame can be legally attached to everyday vans and medium sized vehicles. Similarly, the Silt Away represents a significant upgrade on conventional settlement tanks and has been designed with current and future environmental compliance regulations in mind. Sykes Pumps are well-known for the aptitude and popularity of their hydraulic range, and this has prompted the imminent launch of a 3" model to complement the 4" and 6" 'Hydraset' pumps currently available for hire. There has also been a focus towards upgrading pump accessories, substantiated by the acquisition of modernised road ramps to assist construction sites, local authorities and other ADVERTISEMENT FEATURE "committing to what is in fact the largest annual investment in Sykes Pumps' recent history" organisations where wastewater needs to be pumped across a roadway.
